Art Deco: Advertising for Lindt
In my work, the movement that I had chosen is Art Deco. Art deco is mostly about long, thin, and curvy surface. It also represented elegance, glamour, functionality and modernity. It against art nouveau ‘art for art sake’, art deco is more concern on functionality. The masterpiece that inspires me a lot is The perfume of this winter – Vogue (1927). It was an advertising campaign for women’s perfume. Thus, I reinterpret my work with a lady pouring melted chocolate on her own body form a classy dress.
The product that I had chosen for the reinvention piece is Lindt dark chocolate. The reason I chose Lindt is because of its own brand image that is so classical and also the long history background of Lindt. The melted chocolate pouring on her body is to symbolize the how smooth is the taste of the Lindt chocolate can bring to the customers. The lady poses in a classy pose looks elegance and glamour. And the image overall looks thin and long.
